Congratulations Rebecca and Glenn!

Rebecca and Glenn exchanged vows in a lovely, intimate ceremony held in the bride's parents' backyard on gorgeous Lake Oswego. Rebecca and Glen shared their evening surrounded by their closest friends and family enjoying delicious food, wine, champagne and most importantly the well wishes and support of their loved ones. Everything was just perfect - the lovely lakeside setting, the cheerful boaters cruising by shouting their congratulations, the feast prepared onsite by the Oregon Culinary Institute, the fabulous cake by Polly's Cakes - it was a wonderful, joyful celebration all around. Thanks, Rebecca and Glen, for allowing me to play a part in your day - I wish you the very best. Enjoy your slideshow: http://www.katiejervis.com/slideshows/Cyphers2/index.html

The McGowan Family

Wow, the McGowans are wonderful. I met Cheney through my dear friend Tammi and was instantly drawn to her. Then I had the pleasure of meeting her hubby Bob and their gorgeous baby Maggie. What a treat... they are beautiful and such amazing people. Cheney and Bob, all I can say is thank you for your kindness and support. Ellen, Lindsay and Bret!

Recently got to meet Ellen and her two awesome kids, Lindsay and Bret! Next week Lindsay is off to college in New York! And Bret starts high school in the fall! These three were a lot of fun and so easy to photograph! And we became fast friends - I nearly teared up when I got hugs from ALL THREE of them at the conclusion of our session! Wow! Ellen's father won a Katie Jervis Photography package which I donated last year to the American Red Cross fundraising auction! They'll receive a set of proofs AND a really nice 16x20 fine art wall canvas - so beautiful! Thanks Ellen - you have a WONDERFUL family! My friends the Tuttles

I recently had the opportunity to hang out with and photograph the lovely Tuttle Family. Ann and I have been close friends for 29 years! She, her brother Dave, Claire (one of my beloved sisters) and me were an inseparable group growing up. Our moms were best friends and so were the four of us. Swimming, hide and seek, mission impossible, slumber parties.... we had many fun adventures together. Ahh, good times. Anyway, now Anne's a mom to two lovely, sweet children and her hubby Rian isn't so bad either. They are a wonderful, loving family and it was such a treat to hang out with them. Thanks for the fun time, hospitality and good conversation Ann and Rian. Lots 'o love - and enjoy your slideshow! http://www.katiejervis.com/slideshows/Tuttle/index.html

Wedding Images batch one of three!

Quick Trip to Bend with the gals!

Just returned home from a quick trip to Bend where Alexis Achten of Jasmine Photography (www.jasminephotography.com) and I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding with our good friend Nicole Wickens (www.nicolewickens.com) yesterday (Sunday). It was Nicole’s wedding – Alexis and I were her second shooters. The three of us had an absolute BLAST capturing Lisa and Rich’s STUNNING wedding at Sun River Resort. The bride was a breathtakingly lovely Reese Witherspoon look-alike who is an amazing graphic artist. You wouldn’t BELIEVE the gorgeous details (detail images captured heavily by Alexis. I was charged with nailing close up shots using my favorite long lens). Lisa designed the letterpress programs and invitation, hand made the beautiful table favors, and planned out all of the intricate details. Lisa’s mom is a jewelry designer and I just loved the vintage inspired necklace she made for Lisa. It was such a hoot shooting with these two amazing photographers and I can’t WAIT to see how our three photographic styles blend together. I don’t think it’s right to have this much fun shooting a wedding – as I often indicate, I feel SO LUCKY to have a job I love so much.

Nicole, Alexis and I all shot weddings Saturday (I assisted my good friend Laura of New Moon Events –
www.newmoonevents.com) and got up super early Sunday for our Bend road trip, stopping for coffee along the way OF COURSE. We were so happy to check into our awesome room at the downtown Bend McMennamins! We grabbed a quick lunch to fuel up for our long afternoon/evening and headed over to the resort for the wedding. We photographed for nearly eight hours – was so much fun but we were all super tired after two marathon photography days and a road trip… so we said goodbye to the happy newlyweds, packed up our many, many gear bags and hit the Turkish soaking tub back at McMennamins around 11pm. Ahhhhhhh, so therapeutic, relaxing and FUN. Can’t wait to go back! And I’m totally looking forward to seeing Alexis and Nicole’s stunning images. Thanks Nicole for spoiling/papering us and giving us the opportunity to shoot with you this weekend!

Precious Baby Cole

This evening I was privileged to meet the Meyers and photograph their darling little Cole. And on his one month "birthday" too! He is so tiny and precious and was in the very best mood tonight - he sure loved my camera! He only had one little accident during the naked baby shots - too bad the laptop was in close proximity. No harm, no foul, though. Mom Jen and dad Scott struck me as salt of the earth type people, I'm consistently amazed at how blessed I am to meet so many wonderful new friends on my photographic adventure. Enjoy baby Cole's slideshow: http://www.katiejervis.com/slideshows/Meyer/index.html

Adventure with Rachel & Nate!

For some reason, we had to jump over several hurdles last evening to accomplish this shoot! We were scheduled to meet at 7:45 at the Rose Gardens, but traffic WAS CRAZY and once I arrived I saw there were THOUSANDS of people swarming MY favorite photo op locations within the park. How dare they??? The gall! What's going on? I rolled down my car window while waiting for the cute couple Nate and Rachel and heard angelic vibrato. Apparently "Opera In the Park" was going on. A most lovely sound, but BAD TIMING for me (and it's all about me, right?). Anyway, when Rachel and Nate arrived we decided to scrap the Rose Garden venue and head up to another of my favorite haunts, Pitock Mansion. Ya know, the beautiful location less than two miles from the Rose Gardens! So off we went. Of course there was ALL KINDS of construction on Burnside AND a pack of runners to patiently wait for, so it took us nearly 15 to minutes to get up there. What the heck?! And by this time the precious light was fading - oh no! I love to shoot the 30 minutes prior to sunset, but with all of these delays we were pushin' the available light big time! We FINALLY get to the mansion and wouldn't you know it, the parking lot was uncharacteristically full. WHAT? Turns out there was a business alliance meeting and people were swarming this venue as well! Yikes! We went ahead and shot around them and actually talked to several nice folks. Only had about 10 minutes of adequate light for the shoot and that was at the highest ISO/widest aperture so as to avoid using flash (I'm not a huge fan of flash, much prefer natural light). I was worried, but once I saw the images, rested easier. They are so adorable and photogenic! Our adventure paid off!! Nate and Rachel, thanks for the fun times! You two are great - can't wait to capture your wedding in a few short weeks! Enjoy your slideshow:

Leah & Joe - and I LOVE MY JOB

Last night I had the true pleasure of meeting a VERY cool couple, Leah and Joe. They already have a wedding photographer (good friend in North Washington) but she wasn't available for an engagement session and their wedding is in just a few weeks. Lucky for me they called me and we had a cool time at the waterfront last night. Man do I get to meet the most awesome people - I'm sooooo thankful for my "job." It's truly a dream come true for me. Leah and Joe, thanks for the fun time yesterday - your wedding will be truly special. It was fantastic meeting you both. Enjoy your slideshow and make sure your speakers are on for the full impact!: http://www.katiejervis.com/slideshows/Leah&Joe/

Congratulations Dan and Carrie!

Dan and Carrie were married at Bridal Veil Lakes Saturday and their day was absolutely and completely stunning in every way. Dan and Carrie radiate together and their day was just perfect. They were so relaxed (perhaps partly because Carrie had thought of EVERY DETAIL... she's AMAZING!) and had a ton of fun with their family and friends. What a great celebration in one of the area's most gorgeous locations. Thanks Dan and Carrie - have a wonderful honeymoon and enjoy your slideshow: http://www.katiejervis.com/slideshows/MetcalfA/index.html
