Waiting for Emmett + Magnolia!

I met Heather and Greg when they contacted me over two years ago inquiring about wedding photography. I was lucky for the opportunity to photograph their beautiful wedding at the Chinese Gardens... and even luckier to make a lifelong friend in Heather. Since we met a few short years ago, Heather and I have been through a LOT together. I think the WORLD of Heather and Greg - they are two of the coolest, kindest friends I have... and I couldn't be more thrilled for their bundles of joy who should make their appearance in the next month! Emmett and Magnolia will be two loved little babies... and I couldn't imagine two better parents than Greg and Heather. Love you guys! Here's your Slideshow!

Michelle + Tim's E-Session

Michelle and Tim are a match made in heaven and we had so much fun during their recent engagement session! Michelle is as lovely as possible and Tim has the BEST sense of humor! This is apparent if you spend even a MINUTE with him, and I've had the pleasure of getting to know him a bit when photographing (he was a groomsmen) at Kristy and Steve's wedding a few years back! Back to the session - I, of course, love to photograph couples in locations significant to them and their relationship, and since Michelle LOVES gardening and flowers and since they visit the Vancouver Farmers Market most weekends (weather permitting) we decided that Esther Short Park and the Vancouver Farmers Market would be the perfect setting for Michelle and Tim's engagement session! Just got home from a whirlwind trip to Southern California - my dear friend Sue and I visited our dear (and pregnant with twin girls!!!!) friends Amy and Andy in Redlands! They just moved into a lovely new home - it was especially fun to see the girls' pink and black room... can't wait to visit again once Grace and Faith are born! Along with catching up with Amy and Sue, a highlight was giving Andy and Amy their belated shower gift - four tiny, gorgeous vintage dresses I picked up at Flutter (designed by Frocky Jack Morgan) several months ago, not even knowing Amy was carrying TWO GIRLS (but secretly hoping)! While there I photographed Dr. Amy's third year residents in action at three Inland Empire area hospitals -- assisted by fabulous Sue -- and also did a super fun maternity shoot for Amy and Andy in an orange grove! Stay tuned for photos soon! As I just got home, I haven't even downloaded the cards yet, but Tony (who I got to spend a day and a half with) grabbed this fun shot of the three amigos....Tomorrow Angie and I are headed to Eugene for Matt and Marie's wedding - can't wait, it's going to be fabulous! And it will be so fun to see the Keever Family again, too!

Matt + Jenni in Hawaii!!!!

The fabulous Matt and Jenni were married at Hawaii's Ko'Olau Golf Club, the toughest golf course in the nation, and might I say one of the most beautiful places in the nation as well! Tony and I were treated so very well by Matt, Jenni and their wonderful families the entire time we were there! We stayed at The Hilton Hawaiian Villageand had a simply amazing time meeting Matt and Jenni's friends and family, participating in wedding activities and exploring Oahu. Happy Mother's Day!

In honor of Mother's Day, I wanted to post a quick favorite from my mini-Maternity session with my dear friends, Heather and Greg, who are expecting their twins in about eight weeks! Tracy, Heather and I put on a party/baby shower for them yesterday at my home and it was a blast. We're all so very excited for you two!!!! Emmett and Magnolia have the most amazing parents! Happy Mother's Day Heather (and my dear mom, too, of course!!!) Love you!

A favorite aspect of my work is having the opportunity to meet so many wonderful families.... and it was such a treat meeting little miss Corinne, her parents, adorable cousins, auntie and grandparents! We began their session in their gorgeous backyard on an uncharacteristically super bright, Portland April afternoon without a cloud in the sky. To avoid squints and unflattering shadows, we did a lot of the shoot in Diana and Michael's beautiful home. I especially love some of the images of baby Corinne on the couch - such great light and a true environmental portrait! I think there is something special about photographing children and families in their own space. Thanks so much, Mike and Diane, enjoy your Slideshow!
